"Super glam, super clean. Gold, mint and blush." Yes, please! Alex at Luxe Event Productions was speaking my language when he explained the overall concept for a Spring styled shoot taking place at Union/Pine. I had been in love with that color palette and had some gorgeous papers in the perfect shades that I knew would photograph really well. I love so many things about styled shoots but my favorite is that I get to try new things and test out interesting layouts and concepts that could potentially work for a future couple. By now you know I love participating in styled shoots (with professionals I love to work with, of course). Lane' at Something Borrowed contacted me about providing paper goods for an "elegant garden" styled shoot– she was going for an elegant, timeless and classic look with more neutral/earthy colors (navy, cream, some gold and brown). I had recently been researching vintage botanical prints for a client, and thought that would be a fun way to incorporate some color but still keeping the overall feel neutral by adding a wood engraved overlay. When the grooms told me the plan to incorporate inspiration from their favorite movie, Amélie, into their wedding, a lovely image popped into my head– the garden gnome!! The invitation was an accordion fold complete with a gnome silhouette and their amazing engagement photos (taken by Brandon Witzel), and closed between two wood engraved coasters (how fun when the invitation can be used by guests?!) The invitation set, bound in blue satin ribbon, sat upon a bed of wood excelsior, and was enclosed and shipped in a square box. Not only did I have the great honor of designing their wedding invitations, but was also a participant in the ceremony.
It was a gorgeous August day under beautiful trees in a secluded hazelnut orchard in Aurora, Oregon. The ceremony was so well-written, meaningful, and full of love. This lovely, fun bunch of people below were so happy to participate in the wedding of two incredible people! Thanks W+M for inviting John and I play such an important role in your amazing wedding. One of my most memorable projects was this hot pink and gold glitter die cut pop-up Bat Mitzvah invitation. When I first met my 12-year old client, she was wearing a bright pink top and had a soft dusting of glitter over her cheeks. She described her ideal invitation for this big event– her guests would open the envelope, her name would pop out and glitter to burst all over them! Her parents, on the other hand, preferred something a bit more refined and classic, all the while staying true to Reeve's bubbly and *sparkling* personality. We used gold glitter paper for the envelope liners and gold glitter ribbon to tie around the inserts, and embossed her name on the front in gold glitter. Her name popped up just like she wanted, and we of course used her favorite color– hot pink. A huge thanks to Anders Printing for printing and die cutting the piece, Bullfrog Graphics for laser cutting the name, and Gather Event Planning for sending their lovely client my way! So, my sister was married in October. Did ya hear?! I know, I know, I think I've talked about it a million times. It was such a fun and beautiful event, and we were all dyyyying to see the photos. Brittany Lauren Photography did NOT disappoint– that girl has some CRAZY talent! It was so exciting to see the photos, but then about ten times more amazing to hear shortly after that the photos were picked up by one of our favorite wedding blogs, Style Me Pretty! Check out the feature here. In the meantime, here are some of my favorite shots, and of course the list of all the fabulous people involved in this wedding:

The theme was "Upcycled Brew" and we immediately agreed on what I would contribute– wood goods engraved on a beautiful dark brown walnut wood! I was so happy with the results and think they photographed so nicely with the bright colors going on in the rest of the tablescape. Here's just a couple quick shots of the spread! It is the best place to see the latest and greatest in the paper goods world, and I'm constantly swooning over each post. I was lucky enough to be featured on there last year, and this week my submission of my sister's wedding invitations was also picked up! This was my first invitation suite using foil, and you should all know by now that I *love* foil. It's just so fun and adds a nice, simple touch. Check out the feature here! And many thanks to Paul Rich Studio for shooting the suite for me– it's another lovely addition to the gallery on my website. He has done a perfect job capturing the details of my work in photos, and I'm so grateful!
Happy Halloween! Today I'm looking back at the fabulous photos by Jessica Hill Photography from this Halloween-themed shoot put together by Champagne Wedding Coordination for Style Unveiled. Black chandeliers, purple metallics, pumpkin placecard holders, black lace, and a full styled candy bar– need I say more? My fave photos are below, the rest can be seen here at Style Unveiled! If you know me, you know I'm a tad obsessed with laser cutting & engraving– so when the idea came about for a styled shoot that incorporated bronze metallic, I immediately started researching what type of bronze material could be cut. Enter flexibrass! I used it for the couple's names to be hung above the dessert table, and an inverted option for a styled vignette near the guestbook table. For the paper suite, I added stripes using metallic paint for a fun and inexpensive way to add some shine. Below are a few of my favorite shots (thanks to the lovely Brittany Lauren), but for more of this winter industrial goodness be sure to check out the full feature over on Style Me Pretty. Today I'm sharing the logo I created for the lovely Katie & Monica of Gather Event Planning, located here in Portland. I'm on a "Gather high" today as I've fallen even more in love with them after seeing those gals in action at my younger sister's wedding this weekend. All I can say is– WOW, and THANKGODFORTHEM!!! They are professional, fun, and classy women who just know how to throw a party. Their attention to detail, organization and incredible people-skills are exactly what is needed when putting on a big event. My sister met with Katie several months ago to discuss her wedding plans, and after their meeting my sis called saying, "I can't believe I thought I didn't need a coordinator! I can already tell this is one of the best decisions we'll make for our wedding." These are the women you want with you on your big day. To take care of and think of everything to make sure it goes as smoothly as possible. To be sure your vision comes to life. To manage interesting personalities and conflicts with grace. To have the most calming, nurturing presence that when you are anxious and about to pass out they make you feel 100000x better! So that's my experience with Gather in a nutshell :) Another one of my favorite projects we worked on together was a Modern Italian styled shoot that was published on Style Me Pretty. Here are a few of my favorite shots!
